Man has never been without the need for exploration and research. Indeed, from its inception, humanity began its life with exploration and research suited to its time and place, a practice that continues to this day. Without a doubt, the achievements of modern life are the results of these studies and inquiries. On the other hand, there is a close relationship between sustainable development and the scientific and research structures of society. The nature and level of research activities are considered primary indicators of development and progress. Therefore, research is the foundation for development and serves as a guarantee for its continuation.
In today’s world, the factors contributing to the happiness of individuals and nations are rapidly changing as the world enters an era of significant opportunities and challenges. As a result, students and scholars are compelled to acquire study and research skills to cope with these ever-changing modifications and must change the educational system’s approach toward generating new ideas, thoughts, and teachings. This is the research-oriented educational system that must replace the memorization-based system in a structured and cohesive manner.
The global health care system faces the challenge of how to effectively bridge the gap between what we know and what we practice. This gap is known as the knowledge translation gap, and knowledge translation has emerged as a potential answer to this challenge. Universities, as primary sources of knowledge production, must maintain appropriate relationships with organizations that consume this knowledge, facilitating the effective transfer of knowledge. Knowledge translation is a process that defines the interaction between researchers and users across various sectors, from the selection of research topics to their publication in a manner that maximizes the usability of knowledge.
The success and development of research in any society require the expansion of a research-oriented (research-centric) approach, an approach based on research on various topics within that society. This research approach is not limited to a specific layer or group and will be a source of impact only when it permeates through various levels and affairs of society.
We are thankful to God Almighty for providing us the opportunity to host young researchers in the field of medical sciences in Urmia, the cradle of modern medicine in our country, in the year 1403. Our goal in organizing the 25th annual congress of medical sciences students is to focus on the latest advancements, innovations, and scientific and research developments in the field of health. The collaboration and participation of students and researchers, through presenting papers, posters, and interactive workshops, will transform this congress into a platform for the exchange of valuable knowledge and experiences. Our aim is to create opportunities for identifying and nurturing new and innovative perspectives that can lead to improvements and transformations in the provision of health and medical services at the community level. This congress, planned and managed by a group of leading thinkers and students in the field of medical sciences, will provide a suitable environment for discussion, constructive criticism, interaction, and the introduction of new research approaches. We hope that with the strong presence of you, our scientific colleagues and companions, we can take a firm step on the path toward the advancement of knowledge and modern medicine.
